The Bulgarian Defence Institute (BDI) Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov has been selected for a Coordinator of Project “Advanced European platform and network of Cybersecurity training and exercises centres“

Great Success for the Bulgarian Defence Institute!

The Bulgarian Defence Institute (BDI) named after Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov is proud to announce that it has been selected for a Coordinator of European Defence Fund’s (EDF) Project on “Advanced European platform and network of Cybersecurity training and exercises centres“ (ACTING).

Following the first-ever calls for proposals under the European Defence Fund (EDF), BDI was entrusted with the role of coordinator of the largest Cyber security project with a budget of € 17, 784, 582.50 .

We are thrilled to share with you that this great success for BDI makes us the first and only Coordinator of an EDF Project in the country.

This unique achievement puts the Bulgarian Defence Institute in the leading role in a consortium of a total of  28 organizations from 13 countries. This success was made possible thanks to the efforts of all the partners and it is an honor and responsibility for us to be part of the consortium. 

The duration of the project is 48 months and the main types of activities include studies, design, prototyping and testing.

The project “Advanced European platform and network of Cybersecurity training and exercises centres” (ACTING) will develop a network of advanced interconnected (federated) domain oriented cyber ranges for training and exercises. It aims to incorporate sophisticated methods and techniques for simulation of users, analysis of the performance of the cyber operators, and scoring cyber security situational awareness.
